Successful career woman Takanashi Asuka has an old-fashioned dream of getting married and becoming a housewife. After her long-term boyfriend breaks up with her to pursue his own career goals, she encounters Nanami Ryu, a popular newscaster at PTV. Asuka and Ryu get along well, but the last thing he wants is to ever get married. Tsubasa Ono (Tao Tsuchiya) is in the first grade of Shirato High School in Sapporo, Japan. The high school is famous for its baseball team and brass band. While Tsubasa Ono views a trophy for the brass band, she meets Daisuke Yamada (Ryoma Takeuchi) who is standing next to her and staring at the trophy for the baseball team.
Tsubasa Ono tells Daisuke that she came to Shirato High School after she watched the brass band cheering from the stands during the Koshien baseball tournament. Maki Maki plays the lead violin in the quartet. She has family and only goes to Karuizawa on the weekends for performances. She has a negative personality and barely gives her opinions.
Suzume Sebuki plays the cello in the quartet. She is unemployed. Yutaka Iemori plays the viola in the quartet.
Tsukasa Beppu plays the second violin in the quartet. He comes from a musical family and also works at a donut company. He is the leader of the quartet and provides his grandfather's villa as a base for the quartet. Tsukasa Beppu has secrets.
When Surgeon Kazuaki Okita (Takuya Kimura) was a rookie doctor, he was kicked out of the hospital due to his friend’s Masao Danjo (Tadanobu Asano) plan. He left for the U.S., leaving behind his girlfriend Mifuyu (Yuko Takeuchi). With his hard work, he became an excellent surgeon.
